What is kiosk mode?
Kiosk mode allows multiple attendees to answer polls and surveys on the same device. Between participants, the screen resets so each person starts fresh without seeing the previous person’s answers.
It’s useful for feedback stations at events, trade show booths, registration desks, and office lobbies, especially when no one is available to reset the device between participants.
How to Turn On Kiosk Mode
Open your meeting and select Polls.
Click Settings in the toolbar.
Scroll down and turn on Kiosk mode.
If you want the device to reset automatically, enable either or both of the following settings:
Enable question inactivity timeout
Auto-reset browser after time
Enter the number of seconds for each timer you enable.
Open the attendee link on your kiosk device and test the experience before your event.
Note: The timers do not turn on automatically. With both timers off, attendees can use the Reset for Next Vote button to reset the device manually.
What Each Toggle Does
Setting | What it does |
Kiosk mode | Displays a Reset for Next Vote button in the attendee view after the attendee has answered all polls and surveys. |
Enable question inactivity timeout | Displays an “Are you still there?” notification after a set period of inactivity on a poll or survey. If the attendee doesn’t respond, the browser resets. |
Auto-reset browser after time | Resets the browser after a set period once the attendee has answered all polls and surveys. |

Auto-reset browser after time
Enable question inactivity timeout
The inactivity timer helps when someone walks away before finishing. The auto-reset timer helps when someone finishes but leaves without tapping the reset button.
How the Timers Work
Each tap or answer restarts the inactivity countdown.
After a reset, the inactivity timer waits until the next person interacts with the screen. An unused kiosk won’t keep resetting itself.
When auto-reset is enabled, a countdown on the Reset for Next Vote button shows when the device will reset. Attendees can tap the button to reset sooner.
Timers are configured in seconds and apply to all polls and surveys in the meeting.
If only Auto-reset browser after time is enabled, the reset countdown starts after attendees answer all polls and surveys and tap Next.
If they leave before tapping Next, the screen won’t reset automatically. Enable question inactivity timeout to handle this situation.
How Responses Are Saved
In kiosk mode, attendees must tap Submit answer to save their responses. To save responses automatically, enable Auto-submit responses in the Polls settings.
Use Kiosk Mode Alongside Personal Devices
You can offer a shared kiosk while allowing other attendees to participate on their own phones. You'll simply use two versions of your attendee link:
Where it's used | Link to use | Example |
Kiosk device (shared tablet or laptop) | Your regular attendee link | |
Attendees' own phones (for example, a QR code on a poster) | Your attendee link with |
Best Practices
Choose timers that suit your survey
If you enable the timers, use these as starting points:
Setting | Suggested time | Why |
Question inactivity timeout | 30–60 seconds | Gives attendees time to read and answer. Allow more time for longer questions or surveys. |
Auto-reset browser after time | 10–15 seconds | Gives attendees time to read your thank-you message while keeping the station ready for the next person. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the timers turn on automatically?
No. Turn on each timer individually and enter the number of seconds you want to use.
Can I use kiosk mode without either timer?
Yes. Attendees can tap Reset for Next Vote after answering all polls and surveys. Without the timers, the device won’t reset automatically.
How can I stop the inactivity message from appearing too soon?
Increase the question inactivity timeout to give attendees more time to read and respond. Start with 30–60 seconds and adjust based on your survey.
Can attendees use their own phones while the kiosk is running?
Yes. Share an attendee link with kiosk=false added, as described above.
