Q&A module for Brainstorming

Use our Q&A module with upvoting!

In the Q&A module, you can set up a separate brainstorm for your topic. Then your audience can submit their own solutions or suggestions to the topic. They can also vote on the ideas submitted by others.

It’s easy to do brainstorming on more than one topic. Just set up your topics for discussion individually.

When you create a new topic, you have several different options. Begin with a question or title. You can include more details in the description section (collapsed in attendee view by default.)

Settings menu also allows you to re-open the brainstorm creation window so you can rename it or change the options.

You can use moderation to have control of which suggestions go out to the group. Upvoting is a great way to get feedback. Downvoting is an option to use with care. Sometimes people get discouraged if their idea has many negative votes (instead of no upvotes.)

Comments are great for expanding on ideas, and for the presenter to respond.

Go to the Submitted dropdown to moderate content submitted and click “Approve” or “Reject”. You can keep people focused on the subject at hand by rejecting some suggestions.

Once approved, the comment goes out to the whole audience. When you are finished discussing that comment, you can click “Mark as done” to put it in a collapsed folder. Alternatively, if it’s a suggestion you don’t want to consider right now, you can click “Later” to find something to follow-up on. The “Later” counter lets you monitor if there is time at the end of the session to go over the ideas marked “later”.

You can also un-approve a suggestion if you approve it by accident.

Replies are a great way for the presenter to ask for more details from the person who suggested an idea.

You can also get a CSV of each topic by clicking on “Export CSV”.

Just to the left of the Settings button, is Broadcast. If you have a shared screen (like a projector), you can use the Broadcast view to show the most recently-submitted ideas.

You can use the Broadcast button on a specific Idea to focus on it.

That will update the Broadcast view automatically:

Q&A: Print-friendly report

Use the print-friendly report to create a PDF to share.

The print-friendly view includes a list of the items submitted, along with the number of votes it got.

Q&A: Speaker View

Use the speaker view to avoid the facilitator getting distracted by the other features.

The speaker will see all the ideas that the moderator has approved. They can mark the ideas as Done or Later, which will remove that idea from their view.

The speaker can also reply to individual questions or even edit them. The broadcast button highlights that suggestion in the Broadcast view (hiding all the other suggestions.)

The speaker and moderator can communicate through private messages. These messages are listed at the top of the brainstorm.

Enable Speaker mode by going to Settings > Settings > Speaker mode

Next, you need to share the questions with the speaker.

Q&A: Shortcut to Nav

All topics created will be pinned to the bottom nav bar to ensure the audience participates.

Enter a short label, less than 16 characters. Now your audience will see that label on the bottom nav bar!

Show and Hide items at any time.

To keep people focused, you can hide the other topics until you’re ready to move on. (It’s also just fine to have more than one going on at once.)

To hide them click on the eye button next to each topic created. Attendees will only be able to see the ideas you decide to show them.

Q&A: Focus

Use Focus to push the attendee’s devices to show that topic.

Click on the Focus button for the topic and the audience will be brought directly to it.

Topic Title

The name topic is shown at the top of the Q&A feed

The Broadcast view includes the link to the meeting and the question text.

It doesn’t include the details in the “more information” section.

Please contact our Customer Support chat if any questions come up.
