Bulk edit polls

Select several polls and change their settings, visualization and location in one pass.

Written by Aaron Lifshin

If your meeting has many polls, you can now select several at once and change their settings together instead of editing them one at a time. For example, set the same chart style on every poll, make a group of polls timed, or move them into a survey in one step.

Start selecting polls

Open the Polls tab in your meeting admin, then use either option:

  • Click Select polls in the toolbar above your poll list.

  • Or open the three-dot menu on any poll and choose Select. That poll is selected for you.

A checkbox appears on every poll. Tick the polls you want to change. While you are selecting, the controls on each poll row are paused, so you can't accidentally show or run a poll.

Select polls quickly

Click the arrow next to the checkbox in the bulk edit bar to select a group in one click:

  • All: every poll in the list.

  • None: clear your selection.

  • Never shown: polls that have not been shown to attendees yet.

  • Without responses: polls that have no responses yet.

The number next to each option shows how many polls it will select.

Change settings for the selected polls

The bulk edit bar at the top shows how many polls you are editing, for example Editing 2 polls.

In the bar

  • Attendees see: the icons control what appears on the broadcast view for the selected polls. The first sets whether the polls appear in the broadcast view at all. The second sets whether results are shown when they do. For quiz polls, a third icon controls whether the correct answer is shown.

  • Open for Voting: open or close voting on all selected polls at once.

  • Move to: choose a destination, such as a survey, to move all selected polls there.

  • Visualization settings (screen icon): set how the selected polls look on the broadcast screen. See below.

  • Export (download icon): export the configuration of the selected polls to reuse in another meeting.

  • Delete (red trash icon): delete all selected polls. Deleted polls and their results cannot be recovered.

Other settings

Click Other settings to expand more options:

  • Don't allow attendees to change their answer

  • Make optional

  • Make it timed

  • Make conditional

When you are finished, click Done to leave selection mode.

Change visualization settings for several polls

Click the Visualization settings icon in the bulk edit bar. A sidebar opens on the right and lists the polls you selected. Any change you make here applies to all of them.

  • Poll style: Bars, Columns, Pie, 3D Bars, 3D Columns, Expanded or Classic.

  • Sort poll by vote: show answers in order of votes.

  • Display results as: Percentage or # of votes.

  • Remove from Broadcast: take the selected polls off the broadcast screen. The button shows how many polls it will remove.

  • Launch Broadcast: open the broadcast view to check how it looks.

Things to know

  • Bulk editing applies to polls only. It is not available for Q&A.

  • Deleting from the bulk edit bar removes every selected poll and its results. Check your selection before you click delete.

  • Preparing a meeting you have run before? Use Never shown or Without responses to select only the polls you haven't used yet.

  • To edit a single poll, use Edit in that poll's three-dot menu. See Managing Polls.

  • For more on broadcast visuals, see Broadcast View Configuration.
